Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Entebbe Airport

Upon arrival, our expedition leader and female guide/drivers will warmly welcome you at Entebbe Airport and transfer you to your booked hotel in Entebbe. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the lodge as you prepare for tomorrow’s adventure to Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 2: Transfer & Rhino Tracking – Murchison Falls National Park

This morning, enjoy a scenic drive to Murchison Falls National Park, with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track the endangered southern white rhinos—one of only two places in Uganda where this rare species can be seen. Since six rhinos were introduced in 2006, the population has grown to 32, completing your Big Five safari experience.
Continue to Murchison Falls National Park, spanning nearly 1,500 square miles of diverse habitats, from savanna and acacia forests to riverine woodlands and papyrus swamps. The park is famously bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 140 feet through a narrow gorge at the powerful Murchison Falls. Below the falls, the calmer waters provide excellent opportunities to spot elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, and Nile crocodiles.

Boat trips to the base of the falls and Lake Albert Delta offer outstanding birdwatching, including the rare shoebill stork, a highlight for bird enthusiasts. The park’s striking scenery also featured in the classic 1951 film The African Queen and has hosted notable visitors such as Theodore Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Ernest Hemingway.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive & Waterfall Cruise – Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast, set out for an exciting morning game drive through Murchison Falls National Park. Explore diverse trails while spotting giraffes, buffaloes, lions, waterbucks, and the remaining Big Four.
Later, embark on a three-hour boat safari along the Nile, offering close-up views of wildlife and the spectacular Murchison Falls, also known as the “Devil’s Cauldron.” Afterward, return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer & Bigodi Community Tour – Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast, embark on a scenic 5–7-hour drive to Kibale National Park, passing through rolling hills, lush landscapes, and vibrant local villages. In the afternoon, explore Bigodi Village, beginning with a swamp walk rich in butterflies, plants, primates, and spectacular birdlife, including the Great Blue Turaco—a favorite among birders.
The experience continues with a village walk that introduces you to local traditions such as coffee processing, banana beer brewing, basket weaving, and the wisdom of a traditional healer.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking & Transfer – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters to register for your chimpanzee trekking experience. With your ranger guide, trek through the lush forest in search of chimpanzees, watching them swing through the canopy, feed, play, and rest in their natural habitat.
In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Swamp (if you didn’t on Day 4) for more birdwatching and nature exploration before transferring to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive & Boat Cruise – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, home to over 100 mammal species, including elephants, hippos, lions, buffaloes, leopards, and giant forest hogs. The park also shelters an impressive primate population, with chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and baboons among the highlights.
In the afternoon, take a leisurely boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its concentration of hippos and diverse birdlife.

Day 7: Transfer via Ishasha – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, check out with your packed lunch and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via the Ishasha sector. Stop en route in search of the famous tree-climbing lions—found only here in Uganda. These lions are often seen resting on the branches of acacia and fig trees while scanning the plains for prey such as Uganda kobs. This rare sight is a photographer’s dream.
Enjoy your lunch before continuing to Bwindi Forest. Time permitting, visit the Batwa Empowerment Village for an authentic cultural immersion experience before settling in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking & Transfer – Lake Bunyonyi

Today is the highlight of your safari. Deep within Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, track wild mountain gorillas—an experience like no other. Home to around 460 of the world’s remaining 1,000+ gorillas, Bwindi offers a rare chance to observe these gentle giants.
Led by expert guides, trek through dense rainforest until you find a habituated gorilla family. Watch them feed, play, and rest—while the mighty silverback keeps watch. This unforgettable encounter will remain etched in your memory forever.
After lunch at the lodge, transfer to the serene Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.

Day 9: Transfer & Igongo Cultural Museum – Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi, drive to Lake Mburo National Park with a stopover at the Igongo Cultural Center in Mbarara. Here, enjoy a short cultural tour of the museum before proceeding to the park.
Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and, if you wish, opt for a night game drive in search of nocturnal mammals and birds.

Day 10: Walking Safari & Transfer – Entebbe Airport

After breakfast, set out on a walking safari inside Lake Mburo National Park—the only park in Uganda where impalas can be found, and one of the few places where you can also spot zebras and elands. Guided by a ranger, walk among herds of giraffes, zebras, impalas, and buffaloes, offering an intimate wildlife experience.

Later, drive back to Entebbe with a stop at the Uganda Equator for souvenir shopping and photo opportunities before heading to the airport for your outbound flight.
