The Journey

Day 1Nyerere

Arrival at Nyerere Airport

Your East African adventure begins in Dar es Salaam, where you are warmly welcomed on arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport. You spend the night at a comfortable and centrally located hotel, the perfect place to unwind before your journey into the wild begins.
Day 2Ruaha

Transfer to Ruaha National Park

Today you fly into Ruaha National Park, where your safari starts with a game-drive transfer to the remote and wild Usangu Wetlands. Tucked into the woodlands, your camp offers a rare and uncrowded experience, with just six guest tents ensuring exclusivity and a genuine connection with nature and your fellow travellers.
Day 3Ruaha

Discover Ruaha National Park

A full day to experience the hidden gems of this wonderful park's southern reaches, with game drives and the freedom of an exclusive, unhurried safari among Ruaha's woodlands, rivers and remarkable concentrations of game.
Day 4Usangu

Exploring the Usangu Wetlands

More time to explore this wild corner of Ruaha, where the seasonal wetlands draw plentiful game and birdlife, and the emphasis throughout is on intimacy, exclusivity and connection with the wilderness around you.
Day 5Ruaha

Transfer to Northern Ruaha National Park

A scenic road transfer carries you deeper into the wild heart of Ruaha, one of Africa's most remote and untouched landscapes, famed for its incredible predator sightings including lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hyena. Nestled on the banks of the dry Mwagusi River, your private, expedition-style camp for just six guests offers an exceptionally intimate and uncrowded experience.
Day 6Ruaha

Experience Ruaha National Park

Here you enjoy the freedom of walking safaris, night drives and time to simply sit back and absorb the vastness around you. The camp's custom-designed rooms feature retractable roofs, perfect for stargazing, while dinners are served in the dry riverbed, surrounded by lanterns and the sounds of the African night.
Day 7Ruaha

Ruaha and the Elephant Program

The Southern Tanzania Elephant Program offers a powerful opportunity to connect with conservation efforts, gain insight into local traditions and deepen your understanding of this remarkable region, alongside further game drives and walks at your own pace.
Day 8Nyerere

Transfer to Nyerere National Park

You fly into the heart of Nyerere National Park, where your guide meets you at the airstrip and transfers you to a beautifully positioned camp on a small peninsula overlooking Lake Nzerakera. As the largest protected reserve in Africa, Nyerere is a vast, wild landscape teeming with life, including wild dog, elephant, hippo, buffalo, giraffe, hyena and over 400 species of birds.
Day 9Nyerere

Explore Nyerere National Park

Days are spent exploring the waterways with boating safaris, the surrounding plains on walking excursions, or even trying your hand at fishing. After a day of discovery you cool off in the pool or unwind in the open-sided lounge, enjoying the breeze and the sounds of the bush, before retiring to spacious tents with indoor and outdoor showers.
Day 10Nyerere

Waterways and Plains of Nyerere

A final full day among the channels and plains of Nyerere, with boating safaris, walking excursions and unhurried time to take in one of Africa's last great wild places, ending with the breeze and birdsong of an evening in camp.
Day 11Nyerere

Depart to Nyerere Airport

After a final delicious breakfast in camp and heartfelt goodbyes to your guide and fellow travellers, you transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, where you connect with your onward travel, taking with you lasting memories and a deep sense of wonder.
