5 days deep in Uganda's most scenic and least-explored mountain wilderness, the volcanic landscape of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Set within the Virunga range, Mgahinga offers a more intimate and uncrowded gorilla trekking experience, complemented by spectacular scenery, rich culture and the chance to track the rare golden monkeys.
Combined with a Batwa cultural experience and seamless domestic flights, it is an ideal route for travellers seeking an authentic, immersive and time-efficient primate adventure, from wildlife enthusiasts and photographers to honeymooners and first-time visitors. For the timing that suits you best, see our guide to gorilla trekking, and read more in the Uganda destination guide.
